What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a special kind of professional relationship between client and therapist. It provides space where people can explore whatever they need, in a non-judgmental, safe, contained way.
People consider therapy or counselling for many different reasons. Some feel in crisis, at ‘breaking point’, others will be aware of an issue that has been around for a long time, possibly back to childhood. Others may have experiences of trauma or abuse or a significant loss. Some feel anxious, stressed or depressed. Whatever brings you to therapy, this can be a very positive first step. Research has shown that a good, positive working relationship between client and therapist is the most important aspect of successful therapy. Therefore, choosing the right therapist is very important.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I create individual therapy for each person, using a blend of different approaches and models, taking into account the needs and aims of each individual.
